June 6, 2014 - Lake Ontario (Warm-up Paddle)

Route: Lake Ontario
Distance: 3.20km
Time: 45 minutes

Canoe: 16'6" Langford Prospector (Kevlar)

Liz and I took the canoe out for a short paddle on Lake Ontario.  Our goal was to get some practice strokes in, refresh the paddling techniques we learned last summer and make sure LF7 survived the harsh winter outside without any damage or new leaks.

Good news, LF7 seemed in good shape and definitely wasn't leaking. Liz and I found a dock on the East side near the entrance to Tommy Thompson Park for the Toronto Dragonboat Club.  Unused during the week, the sheltered bay had a large dock and was a very easy spot to put our canoe into the water.

We spent about 45 minutes tooling around the little sheltered bay, practicing different strokes and just getting a feel for paddling the canoe again.  It felt great, and we are super excited for our summer camping trips to come.
